My call, 22 Sep 2015: Amazon will take on Google as the go-to search engine, landed, Amazon Ads booked $56.2B in 2024
Amazon FY2024: $638B net sales, $68.6B operating income, AWS $107.6B at ~30% cloud share funding the grid
My call on stage in Riyadh: Amazon owns the patents for flying warehouses and delivery drones, landed, FAA approved BVLOS in 2025, $4B+ pushed Same-Day Prime to 4,000+ smaller US cities
Supply Chain 4.0, my Zara receipt: product to store in 2 weeks vs 6 months for the rest, 15-25 store visits per loyal client yearly, no heavy advertising
Retail is a trillion-dollar industry, and I called from stage years ago that it would not be decided by ads. It is decided by Supply Chain 4.0: the vertically integrated grid of data, robotics, IoT, and delivery nodes that converts clicks into doorstep outcomes. On 22 Sep 2015 I published the call: forget Yahoo and Microsoft, it is Amazon that will take on the mighty search mogul Google.
It landed. Product search starts on Amazon, and Amazon Ads is now a $56.2B machine bolted onto the grid.
The flywheel you cannot copy with ads: traffic creates data, data trains inventory and routing, faster delivery lifts frequency and share of wallet, higher frequency funds more nodes, robots, and routes. Amazon sells time, and time becomes margin. Zara fast fashion runs the same Supply Chain 4.0 play: 2 weeks from design to store while the rest takes 6 months.
In Riyadh I showed the flying warehouse and predicted the air layer: Amazon owns the patents for airborne fulfillment centers and delivery drones. In 2025 the FAA approved BVLOS. Competitors copy features. Nobody copies Supply Chain 4.0. Advertising may win quarters. Innovation wins decades.
